VV020-GLASS FIBER

Fiberglass for anticrack reinforcement

Benefits

  • Excellent workability with gypsum and cement
  • Control and prevention of breakage and cracking of the materials
  • Simple and safe to apply, it increases the thixotropy of gypsum and cements
  • High dispersion: 100 million filaments per kg of product
  • Fiber length: 12 mm
  • Virtually invisible on finished surfaces

Veltman VV020 non-woven glass fibers obtained by grinding the primary filament which are used as anti-crack reinforcement. Particularly suitable for both domestic and industrial processing, the VV020 glass fiber has a high degree of dispersion in gypsum, cements, water and casting masses.

  • Fiber length: 12 mm
  • Filament Diameter: 20 μm / 0.00078”
  • Loss on Ignition (%): 0.60
  • Moisture (%):  0.50 max.
  • Electrical Conductivity: Very low
  • Specific Gravity: 2.68 g/cm3
  • Material: Alkali Resistant Glass
  • Softening point: 860°C
  • Chemical Resistance: Very high
  • Modulus of elasticity: 72 GPa / 10 x 106 psi
  • Tensile Strength: 1000–1700 MPa / 145–250 x 103 psi
The recommended dosage is between 0.02 and 0.2% or between 0.5 and 5 kg/m3. The fibers can be added to the gypsum or cement powder (dry) or introduced directly in the mixing phase of the product. The fiber can also be dispersed in water before adding the gypsum powder.
